Cavalier Galleries is pleased to announce an outstanding exhibition of landscape paintings, now open in our Greenwich, CT gallery. The exhibition highlights the development and diversity of landscape painting in America over the past century and a half, with a focus on regional works from New England and New York.
Juxtaposing historical pieces with contemporary works, this special collection of American landscape paintings shows the continuity and changes in the genre over the last 150 years. Though landscape’s role in the art world has changed continuously, this important genre will not fall out of favor. Artists continue to paint what they see from their own unique perspectives, making each interpretation distinctly unique.
This exhibition will showcase historic works by great masters such as John F. Kensett, James Abbott McNeill Whistler, Andrew Wyeth, George Boice Durrie, David Johnson, and Walter Launt Palmer. Contemporary artists featured in this exhibition include Jacob Collins, Frank Corso, Thomas Kegler, Marla Korr, Nina Maguire, Joseph McGurl, Peter Poskas, Don Stone, John Terelak, and Douglas Wiltraut.
