Steve McCurry Exhibition now open at our NYC Gallery!
A selection of McCurry’s iconic images,
hand selected by the artist, will be on view in our New York gallery from March
1-25, 2013. 15 East 71st Street, Suite 2A, New York, NY
10021, 212.570.4696, Open Wednesday-Friday 11-5,
and by Appointment.
Afghan Girl, McCurry’s most recognizable portrait,
will be on view along with 14 other works spanning the past 3 decades.
Included are seminal works from his travels in China, Burma, India, Kashmir,
Ethiopia, Thailand, and Kuwait. McCurry has an uncanny ability to cross
the boundaries of culture and language to capture stories of human experience.
“Most of my images are grounded in people,” he says. “I look for the unguarded
moment, the essential soul peeking out, experience etched on a person’s face. I
try to convey what it is like to be that person, a person caught in a broader
landscape that you could call the human condition.”
