Steve McCurry wins Leica Hall of Fame Award

The world-renowned reportage photographer is the first awardee.

The Leica Hall of Fame Award, which has now been awarded for the first time, stands in a tradition of earlier awards initiated by Leica Camera to honour outstanding photographers. During the "Tribute to Photography" night on September 1st, an event within the framework of the St. Moritz Art Masters in Switzerland, Steve McCurry was awarded the prize donated by Leica Camera AG: a Leica M9-P with the engraved name of the award and Steve McCurry's signature.

Peter Fiore

Peter Fiore was a finalist and Honorable Mention recipient at the Art Renewal Center's 5th Annual International Salon.

His painting, "Autumn Evening" won the Honorable Mention and "January Shade" was selected as a finalist out of the 1600 plus entries received from around the world.

Peter was also a finalist for his landscape paintings in the 2007 and the 2006 ARC Salon Competitions.

Below is a video of Peter as he paints one of his favorite fields. It's a fascinating look into his process--from preparing the canvas to painting his signature on the finished work. The video is sped up and only runs about 2 minutes.
