Artist Debranne Cingari Exhibiting at the Times Square Art Center

November 9, 2013 2pm-midnight

Debranne Cingari will be showcasing her artwork in New York City Art Show with Dacia Gallery

New York City, NY – Dacia Gallery announced today that Debranne Cingari’s artwork will be showcased at the Time Square Art Center on Saturday, November 9 from 2:00pm-12:00am. Part of a group show, 30 selected artists will be featured in this pre-holiday event, which will display paintings, drawings, photography, sculpture, digital, and site-specific installations.

Cingari’s artwork will be displayed at 300 West 43rd Street at 8^th Avenue, at the Times Square Art Center 6th Floor. It will include works from her city landscape assemblage series.

As life-long collector, Cingari's love of objects has led her to introduce assemblage to her photography, that has sparked an intriguing new series of work. Drawing inspiration from various muses, her creations are sparked by her curiosity in discovering discarded objects, as well as the people and places she encounters while traveling the world.

Her pieces come to life as collections of locks, keys, tools, records, book pages, bindings, and hundreds of other found objects. As you explore the composition, each object is given new meaning while it invites you to wonder about its history.

Cingari’s work is currently being represented by Cavalier Gallery in Greenwich, CT and Nantucket MA. She has recently returned from a group show in Rovigo, Italy, where her work was featured amongst 40 other Internationally selected artists. There, her work will remain in a permanent collection.

Ron Cavalier Speaking at the Appraisers Association of America

This Tuesday, October 22^nd the Association will hold an all day event, All About Appraising: Bronze Sculpture, where Ron will lend his expertise regarding the creation of sculptures as well as issues with authenticity, restoration and preservation. Ron Cavalier’s involvement in the sculpture world began 40 years ago when he started working for his father on Saturdays at the Renaissance Art Foundry.

During the next 19 years Ron became proficient in all aspects of the art of lost wax casting completing his foundry career as a master of the patina process. In addition Ron also became a highly regarded restorer of bronzes including small works as well as monumental outdoor works. Ron has worked on the bronzes for contemporary artists such as Sandra Chiai, Brian Hunt, and Tom Otherness, and on bronzes by important sculptors of the past including Rodin, Lachaise, Bayre, and Borglum.

Ron Cavalier has been an Accredited Member of the Appraisers Association of America since 1999, and specializes in Contemporary Art, and 20^th Century Sculpture.

The event is open to members and non-members ($185 fee)

Steve McCurry is featured on the cover of this month's National Geographic

The magazine is celebrating the Power of the Photograph using McCurry’s now iconic image of the Afghan Girl

McCurry is also in the press due to the recent release of his new book Untold: The Stories Behind the Photographs. In the book, McCurry explains the story of capturing the image of the Afghan Girl and admits that it was almost never used by National Geographic. He explains the story in detail on the Today Show.
