CALL TO ACTION - FIND "THINK BIG" A NEW HOME!

“THINK BIG” IS BEING FORCED TO MOVE FROM 57th STREET LOCATION

The 12-foot tall bronze sculpture that had all of New York buzzing upon installation on Wednesday is being ousted by the city from it’s current location in front of 3 west 57th street. The sculpture, created by Salt Lake City-based artist, Jim Rennert, represents a man with his eyes fixed upward towards the skyscrapers around him, serving as a reminder that when we “think big,” we can achieve anything.

“Although we have permission from the owners of the building it sits in front of, the city is making us move THINK BIG by Monday,” explains Rennert. “We’re bummed, because in the short time it’s been there, hundreds of people have come to take photographs with it and talk with me. They were really inspired by it.”

In support of the THINK BIG movement, Callahan Capital Properties has stepped up to offer the piece a temporary home at 1411 Broadway. Rennert will be on the hunt for a new permanent or semi-permanent location after that.

“My intention was always to share this piece with the whole city, so I would love to find many locations around the city to display the sculpture over the next couple years,” Rennert said. “That way lots of people could enjoy it!”

Rennert has put out the following call-to-action:

“We want to hear from property owners who ‘Think Big’ and want to support public art. We encourage anyone with a private plaza or privately owned area where the sculpture can be placed but remain in public view to contact us via our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/DoYouThinkBig).

Also, we are encouraging people to tweet in support of THINK BIG, using the hashtag #DoYouThinkBig, sharing their love for the sculpture and what it stands for! We would love to hear ways that members of the public "Think Big" - after all, this sculpture was meant to inspire!!”

Think Big Installed on 57th Street in NYC!

Jim Rennert’s monumental sculpture Think Big is currently installed on 57th Street!
Jim arrived this morning with the 12 foot tall bronze sculpture as a gift to the City of New York to act as a reminder of what we can accomplish if we dare to Think Big.

Before becoming a sculptor, Jim held a career in the business world.  Even though Jim made the decision to become an artist, he allows his previous experience to influence his work.  Think Big and other works reflect Jim’s theme that ‘business is the sport of a lifetime’.
Rennert hopes this sculpture will serve as inspiration for all of those who see it to Think Big and accomplish dreams of their own.

Jim will be in the city from November 20th through the 26th, if you would like to schedule a time to meet with him please contact us at: art@cavaliergalleries.com or 212.570.4696
